I have Spotify but rarely use it.

I use mine everyday for the Go Birds! daily podcast but that would be free without a sub.

I find I use the music enough thats it's worth $15/month to me.

I am rather old school and still have my own MP3/M4A collection of music

Live long enough and MP3's will make a comeback with whatever younger generation like records.

I do kinda miss that 80gb iPod I had with the wheel that could play music and video. That was the only Macintosh product I've ever owned.

I think I would have been more into Spotify early on if they had learned how to play nice with Apple. Then Apple Music came along and matured into what it is today, which mixes in with all my devices nicely. Sometimes I make my own playlists (my aforementioned favorites list around 400+) and download some of their ready made playlists. I find that when I ask Siri for a particular artist on my Homepods, it goes REAL deep into their catalog. I requested Stevie Ray Vaughan the other day while making dinner and heard stuff I haven't heard in years, or at all. I like that!

Also it's setup if I request a particular song, it automatically starts up a radio station that plays other artists that are similar. If I request 'Rain on the Scarecrow' by John Mellencamp, it plays that then plays stuff like Springsteen, Tom Petty, Willie Nelson, The Pretenders, Johnny Cash, which makes a nice little mix.

Spotify has the same thing.

Ehh not sure if Spotify goes super deep. I should try with some band where I now the deep cuts. Are you saying if you ask for a band the first song in the shuffle may be super deep?

I'm an Android guy but Pam is an Apple lady and shes all about Spotify so idk.

In my case I've been an early adopter of Apple since day one of the iPhone. In those times Spotify and Apple didn't exactly get along. Naturally I gravitated toward Apple Music, which admittedly was the inferior product at the time, but it was all I knew to use. Familiarity and all that.

I can't believe this is the closest we have to a overall Spotify thread but whatever. Good enough.
Consider adding:

Apple Music I have my own favorites list, approaching 400+ songs now
Consider adding:
I am rather old school and still have my own MP3/M4A collection of music
SAME!
I don't want Apple to remove any of my own collection.
SAME! Amazon music shot huge holes in my playlists. I like owning my music.
