A show my son and I have been watching on Paramount+ is Star Trek : Startfleet Academy. I believe it follows Star Trek : Discovery (which we have not seen) in the timeline. We enjoyed season 1. What was ironic is it was my son who wanted to watch. Unfortunately it did not do too well in their ratings and has been cancelled after season 2. It was filmed in Toronto.

I found it an enjoyable watch although not quite the same feel as previous Star Trek's I have seen.

Kinda outta nowhere we've been watching the original Star Trek in bed before crashing lately ( on the Roku Channel ). I grew up with the show ( and never watched anything after that ), but it's the 1 Trek series my wife hadn't seen. She's really been enjoying it.

I enjoyed Disney's new Hannah Montana 20th Anniversary Special except for the beginning where she sang Best Of Both Worlds and every female – every female! – in the audience was singing along and I thought of the lines in Chuck Berry's My Ding-A-Ling: "There's two ladies singin' together in harmony. That's all right, honeys. This is a free country. Live like you wanna live. Ain't nobody gonna knock it."

Podcaster Alex Cooper asked Miley Cyrus how she got the Hannah Montana role at age 13. "Charisma, uniqueness, nerve and talent,”Miley said. I, and thousands of others, knew why Miley picked those four words. She knew what she was saying.

Think about it.

What a day at the movies! We saw "Project Hail Mary" today. I was going to go alone last Tuesday because my wife didn't want to go. But then she read the preview and saw that Ryan Gosling was going to be in it, so she changed her mind. I waited for her to fit it into her schedule. We went 20 minutes early because it was on Wolf's Blockbuster List and that came in handy with the long lines. But we saw all the previews including "Michael". I was not interested until it showed that they are going back to his childhood days in Indiana so I now plan to go when it comes out.

Our movie was in the Ultra screen and we used our guest passes otherwise it would have been $30. And they didn't dim the lights until two minutes after the movie started. The movie was a little long but interesting. It seemed like a more practical impression of what space travel and alien contact would be like
if we were capable of doing it. Star Trek is entertaining but seems like quite a stretch. When the movie ended, we saw a couple leaving with a "Project Hail Mary" pizza box. Then I wanted one. Not the pizza just a souvenir box but I was refused. We then eat at the theater bar. I had a nice smash burger and took a photo of the Bogie and Bacall picture on the wall. I also brought my burger container tray and clear soda cup home. And I picked up a mini poster of the movie I saw two weeks ago, "Reminders of Him"

Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice with Vince Vaughn on Hulu looks interesting. There's also a show Madison with Michelle Pieffer on Paramount.
It's just a matter if fitting them in with all the sports. I have the Ncaa Tournaments and the Kentucky Derby point season going on. Things will slow down soon.
At least The Cactus League is done.

We watched it last night.
It was fun.

I think that it was a good effort for Hulu.

I didn't say that it was great, just fun.

We watched Anaconda tonight.
The Mrs. loves the old cheesy horror flicks, and we like the actors that are in the remake.

This one was just bad all the way around.

I didn't say that it was great, just fun.

I watched all of Matt LeBelanc's show Episodes on Showtime and The Rock's show Ballers on HBO for that exact reason a few years back.

Both were around 5.5 out of 10 but were fun.

To promote the Super Mario Galaxy movie (or whatever it is), the cast was at the F1 Japanese Grand Prix. Jack Black actually waved the checkered flag, and the cast includes Anya Taylor-Joy and Brie Larsen. Here's Jack lip-synching to AC/DC's Thunderstruck, with a Japanese (I think) commentator over it.

For the Tuesday Special Movie I saw "Hoppers". I thought after two weeks that attendance would be down but there were still a lot of kids in that room.
It was cute at the start but started to really drag on. If I was an 8-year boy, I don't think I would have liked it. However, after the movie ended a group of boys came up to the front row and started watching the credits. The theme was good though about the animals losing the land they once occupied to human construction. As with my own home, it was just 15 years ago the neighborhood once belong to the deer. That's probably why they occasionally hang out by my dryer vent at 1am.

At midnight, they are showing that Super Mario Galaxy movie but my wife does not want to go. Probably be packed anyway.

Something Very Bad is Going to Happen

I'm going to move that up to #1 on my viewing list. Since I'm not going to the midnight movie, I'm going to watch one episode tonight and an episode of Nick & Mick............... and see which one is better. I just watched episode 3 of "Impractical Women" one scene with Kata Mara. That's casting false advertising.

I did see Mike & Nick & Nick & Alice now. I thought it was a TV show not a movie. It had Keith David (or David Keith) in it. Did you ever see "The Quick and The Dead"? He plays an assassin too that gets shot in the same way as Dolph Lundgren did. Keith David must have given them the idea for this movie. It was a fun one and it might be the last movie I ever see on standalone Hulu.

As mentioned elsewhere, season 2 of Your Friends and Neighbors is rolling out. Episode 1 was available, which we watched last night. I'm guessing it's a weekly thing.

We also watched the season finale of Shrinking. Kind of bittersweet.
