I can't seem to find this information on my own.

Does the G1 have speakers? Do I need headphones or aux speakers to use this unit?

Doesn't have speakers of it's own. You'd need to plug it in to a stereo or use earbuds that come with it.

Ah shit. How do people use this in the car? RF Modulator?

Oh, and thanks +1

I think it came with a dock that you could plug in through AUX or FM Transmitter. Like an XM Radio.

I appreciate that.

I think I'm going to bring along a battery powered boombox and use it's aux in for my car trips to Hershey. (Since the car I'm taking is a company car...don't wanna pull out the radio)

We'll see how that goes.

So, how long should it take to refresh a 40 channel G1?

I had mine connected all night and it still didn't refresh all of the channels.

And can I connect while plugged into the USB?

This thing is frustrating the hell out of me and I still think mine is a lemon.

Sounds like your internet connection is the lemon!

It doesn't matter at this point. It's back with the seller for "evaluation".

But seriously, my wireless router is a POS but my Wii and 2 laptops work flawlessly and the G1 had an excellent connection with it when it was connected.

The G1 had other issues, too.

Indeed for the most part it is a POS! LOL

I got my new (factory refurb) G1 yesterday and it loaded with no problems whatsoever.

It's good to know it wasn't me being a dumbass and actually was the radio. I'm listening now and it's awesome.

Great, my son still has a G1 and I have a G2, but neither of us use them much anymore since we both have iPhones with the Slacker app. The G1 has always been problematic over the G2. However, when it works as you said it is great! I hope it continues to be that way.

Your kid is lucky to have an iPhone.

I couldn't be happier with the G1 now that it's working the way it should.....

This technology really gives Sirius a run for it's money, in my opinion.

My son is 28 years old, he wouldn't say he was lucky. He's say he worked his ass of to buy it. I don't buy him electronics anymore, those days are over! LOL

Musically I think Slacker kicks Sirius butt!
