Hello,
I have an old Brix Steamer radio, all has been good until yesterday, Radio was on, cleaning the cover while on channel 38, finished turned off, when I went back to audio channel 38 comes up invalid, checked with menu and its got no wards that says Ozzys boneyard, I can not rotate the dial pass channel 37 up or down from 39. Direct entry of channel comes up with invalid channel. if I choose to "skip" the channel no issues with using the dial to change channels. I opened the receive to look for a battery for a reset nothing, I tried factory reset, cleared all memories still nothing. The radio has a life time sub from who ever I bough it from so I dont want to rock the boat to keep the service going, not sure what they would do if I am not the original owner.

PS, tried to resend a signal through Sirius website to "restart" but it said bad ESN

Any advice???
Thanks,

Dave-

Is the ESN still listed on your account? I've called, said I couldn't connect through the web and requested a free reset on the phone.

I don't know a lot about plug and play receivers, but it might unbug it's self if you let it rest and restart. Do any of the presets allow you to listen to other channels?

If it's a worn out dial TSS Radio might be able to repair/replace it.

Let us know how things turn out.

It really sounds like the radio is dead. Is it the Original Streamer, SIR-STRPNP1?
We sell a replacement for about $20. Out of Stock now but should get some in a week. Otherwise we have some receiver only ones that we can sell pretty cheap, just call us. 312-846-6606

The receiver works great and yes it an original BRIX Streamer, I lost only channel 38 pushing some buttons while it was on and cleaning the face. I bought it years ago on Ebay, the original owner must have a a life time sub on it, it is NOT on my account it gets updates and has worked since day 1, I have had it before Stern moved over.
I am afraid if I call and give them the ESN they will disconnect me since i am not the original owner with a life time sub or some how its been lost in the system.

If I punch the category button and scroll to 38 its got no words, if you than push display button will change to the artist name and push again it will have song title. does the same for all the channels.
For some reason only channel 38 comes up INVALID CHANNEL.

I feel like I've heard this kind of issue here and there in the past. I will ask around and see if I can find anything.

Hi -

If it says BAD ESN on the Refresh website, then either the ESN is typed in wrong in the Sirius computer, is typed within the refresh system wrong, or the radio is no longer subscribed to Sirius.

You would need to contact Sirius and get the ESN properly in the system and then do the refresh or have them do it. Hopefully that'll fix it.

There's been some free trials going on lately and it's possible the radio's worked all this time but actually isn't in the computer properly.

I'd always trust the Channel 0 ESN/SID over the decal on the unit. It should be 12 digits for Sirius radios.

I hope this solves it for you.

No offense but why would I call them if I am getting a free service and start to pay for it? I already pay for 3 subs now and should have done the lifetime sub when I 1st started for them all. If I have lost 1 channel so be it, its a portable radio that I use a dozen times year for outdoor events so paying all that money for an average of 1 use a month is pointless. and yes it has 12 numbers its starts with 3 or 4 0's (zeros). I was hoping someone would of has a easy "reset" procedure, like hit 3 buttons and it does a "hard reset" like accessing my phones root system by holding down vol up and down and power button at once.
Maybe someone will have an answer.

Much appreciated and thank you for your time, there's got to be a hard factory reset without them sending a signal.

Your question is answered in the channel update FAQ. There is nothing wrong with your receiver.

By the way, I just had a Brix Streamer die on me recently. Great old radio but it doesn't get all of the channels anymore. Still have one of them active that my dad uses with a boombox cradle. TSS Radio will give you a great deal on replacement supplies.

THANK YOU!!! I hope its true.

From Sirius website:

I have an older Sirius radio and I can’t tune to Ozzy’s Boneyard (Channel 38).
A small number of older Sirius radios will display an “Invalid Channel†message when you try tuning to Ozzy’s Boneyard (Channel 38). The channel may appear with a blank channel name and blank artist/title fields.

We are working on this issue and expect to have it resolved in three to four weeks. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.

Hello all,

Just wanted to post and update. I guess Sirius fixed the issue, Pulled out the radio and channel 38 was up and running.

Thanks to all that help and provided info.
