Has anyone tried Rdio? It is basically like Rhapsody, MOG, Napster and Spotify. Actually more like Spotify as they have desktop apps for Mac, Windows and allow for syncing to multiple devices for the $9.99 per month. Desktop App and iOS app is very clean and works incredibly fast.

No radio stations though like Slacker. I am doing to trial just to check it out. Pretty sweet service and they have a damn good library to music too. Oh and the iOS App has takes advantage of iPad's big screen, album art is high quality. Thus far only Slacker and Rdio music services have iOS apps for the iPad. I don't count Pandora, cause it sucks with all the repeats, but that is another topic.

Used it a good bit today, iOS software is rock solid I've yet to have it crash or cause my iPod Touch to reboot. Music library is better than Slacker, though no pre-programmed music stations, which they are a full on-demand service so that is more or less expected.

This service is clearly as good as MOG, Rhapsody and Napster and I've used them all except that they actually do have iPad support.

I don't see myself keeping this, because overall Slacker still gives you more bang for the buck especially now with ABC News and ESPN. Not to mention the pre-programmed stations all for the same price.

It is always interesting to try these services to see how they differ. I really do like the iOS app though and also the fact that the on-demand portion of the service works on multiple devices rather than be limited to just one.

IRBS it doesn't surprise me that you were not impressed, because you don't even do the on-demand service on Slacker and this is an on-demand only service.

I believe I was confusing it with RadioIO. I see the app I have is RadioIO which I assumed was the same thing. The app is free and offers only pre-programmed unimpressive music stations.

And you are correct. I have no need or want for on-demand services. I will do the free trial of Slacker if its still around when my Slacker year sub expires in January. But since Slacker offers no downgrade path, I refuse to make that type of committment to something I may or may not like by converting the remaining sub before it expires.

Yeah I was confused by the names too and in fact had overlooked that Rdio service many times because I thought they were one in the same. Then I got an email for a 30 day free trail so I am giving it spin.

Yeah on-demand is not for everyone because it does take work and you have to know the music you want. I am basically a pro now at building music playlist so I have fun with it.

Yeah Slacker sucks when it comes to downgrading, one you make the leap to Premium you are screwed for 30 days. However, you are better off with Slacker anyway cause this has no pre-programmed stations and thus far Slacker is the absolute best in terms of those type stations.

I continue to be impressed though by Rdio's library and iOS Apps! There social network connection through Facebook works really well too.

Slacker is supposed to be coming with better social integration too.

If you pay by month, you are stuck with 30 days Premium. If you have a year its #of months remaining * 3.99 / 9.99 days left on your sub before you can downgrade.

In January, I will set mine to not autorenew and try the free 1 month premium preview. Then I will not renew that and resub to the plus (assuming that the 1 month free preview still exists in January).

Thus far the integration on Facebook has not happened yet at least that I can see. I do see the new login using my Facebook account on Slacker, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I noticed on Rdio everything you play will show up on Facebook, which I don't like so this is cool as long as you can turn it off. I can also play songs directly from the Facebook page on Rdio and Spotify, but no ability to do this for Slacker yet.

I don't see you keeping the Premium service!

Well after all the months go going back and fourth between these service. Slacker, Spotify, Rhapsody, I just happened on Rdio. Well this thing has totally blown me away. I have finally found an on-demand service that meets my every need!

I will likely continue with Slacker as a plus subscriber only for the pre-programmed stations. But for me Rdio is my final pick for on-demand with after checking out all these services! I am giving them a little advertising via my Avatar and Signature file!
